Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. Also, there will be download areas for scientific papers, Wallpapers and more. Again folks, we can only do that if you all help. Please send me a Private Message if you want to keep Venomland alive, i will provide you with the details on how to donate Money. Hello to everybody.

My name is Peter Pastor, and I am from Slovakia. I am 33 years old, and together with my friend Marek Kovač I keep over 100 species of venomous snakes. Our main focus is captive breeding, but we also import/export some snakes from time to time. We are trying to do it for living, although it`s very tought job Surprised
Marek will become a member of this forum as well, although he is not speaking English. But he can at least read something, so he can check by self what this forum is about... Very Happy
I am sure this board will bring to all of us a lot of fun and also knowledge, I will do my best to add some "notes" also from our side...

well, Austria, Slovakia, Swizerland, Germany, Philippines, China, it sure is international...
after 2 days, we have 10 Member out of 5 countries - not bad! i love to see the board growing in the right direction.

A very warm welcome Peter! i am glad having you and Marek on Board... you are two guys with great knowledge, a very good addition to out family.
I was spending the last years of my work and life out in the field - and at nights i spend my time in setting up a network between professionals and other peoples who share the same passion - the passion for Reptiles. finally it come to a real "Together"...

Hi all, and thanks for nice and warm welcome. I will surely try to share our knowledge with you. Unfortunatelly, so far it will be more about captive breeding of venomous snakes, as we are not profesonals doing research work in field. Anyway, I hope we will make some nice trips to natural localities of different species in near future too... Wink

Captive Breeding is one important aspect of conservation.
it is not only important to understand the biology (who understands it better than somebody who is capable of breeding them anyway?) and the natural Habitat of the animals, it is important to have data about husbandry and breeding biology, data about feeding habits and data about behavior as well.

in the recent years, scientists and hobbyists have worked together, pretty successful in order to unlock some secrets of many species..

your contribution of breeding experiences are from great value therefore.
