| Gorgeous animals! I had a pair with a BIG (90+ cm) female! She dropped me on a nice evening: - 13 live young - 15 dead young - 15 slugs A amazing drop for a Acanthophis!
Hope that you will have some nice youngsters!
Regards, Niels | |

| Thats a shame, I love this species, sorry Roger.
I had a similar experiance with Atheris nitshei last year, by the 12th slug I was almost in tears. She had a total of 12 slugs, 1 stillborn and 1 live and very healthy baby which made it a little better. Did you get any live babies? Do you suspect your female may not have had sufficient heat, I think that was my problem which is why I ask? I could be wrong though, we can only move on and try agian, good luck for next time. | |

| i didnt get any babies what so ever, im not sure if it was a heat issue as i had a small heat mat at one end, i could be wrong thou. at the weekend im setting up a viv and transfering her in there so some setup ideas would be great if anyone would like to share. it could of been too much heat as the 1st egg looked as though there was something in it as there was a red spot then following that just lttle slugs was coming out alot smaller than the first. i am a little dis heartened but i will try again and think of other ways i can improve or what i did wrong the first time.
cheers Roger | |
