Hello to everybody

Hi there
It's a honour to introduce myself as the very first one her.

My name's Peter, I'm living in Austria, my hobbies are snakes, snakes and snakes again, my profession too.

Born and raised in Switzerland, reptiles and amphibians very soon took place in my life; I started my "herpetological" career at the age of ten, keeping local frogs, lizards and grass snakes.

I started venomous herping at the age of 21 with european vipers, which have been my favourite passion for a long time.

As interests can change in a human's life, I switched to rattlesnakes later, building up a pretty large collection of about 40 different species and subspecies.

In 1994, I left Switzerland and everything (including my profession) behinf me, moved to southern Austria and became a zoo director building up my own reptile zoo.

At the reptile zoo here in Carinthia, we present mainly venomous snakes to public, in the non-public section some breeding projects with cobras and crotalids are running.
My favourite interests at this time are cobras of the genus Naja and asian crotalids of different genera.

well - finally we have a Hot forum and i like to welcome you here!
may we have lots more talk´s about venomous snakes and all the other herping stuff.

it always a pleasure chatting with you. also thanks for taking the moderator position, especially in European Vipers, i dont know any one better than you for the Job! hope i see many postings about your passion and lots of pictures!
