| Really nice snakes. I Especially like the Philodryas olfersii. Nice breeding result!
Do you know about the danger of this species? Maybe you should read the following paper. I would never freehandle them.
Report of a bite by the South American colubrid snake Philodryas olfersii latirostris (Squamata: Colubridae) | |

| The Philodryas olfersii really are dangerous. Their bite is similar to results of Bothrops. I've been bitten by the younger female and a baby. The adult female chewed for about 4 seconds. 1 week with the wrist swollen and unable to shake, because it hurts so much. There must be handled. If you have doubts about what I wrote, just ask, because my English is bad. thank you

| http://www.rear-fanged.com/en/philodryas.html The first thing to prevent a bite is - take a hook instead of hands The second thing ( in case of rear fanged ) - use gloves That will prevent all bites Really nice collection and snakes | |

| Can you share some info on how you keep your Oxyrhopus? I've recently got hold on some very small captive bred O. rhombifer I've been forcefeeding since I have them..
Did you have yours since they we're small?
Thanks

| The biggest problem is the supply of Oxyrhopus. Most are exclusively saurófaga. In most developed countries in HerpetoHobbye, you have the possibility of using lizards as food, and gradually replace them with mice. Oxyrhopus rhombifer say be very difficult in food, especially the babies. I advise you to use pieces of Hemidactylus or other lizard that has available. If she starts eating slowly can replace a mouse lizard, lizard passing the bowels of the mouse, after passing the Lizard, as I did after doing the video with Philodryas olfersii, and then only the mouse. I hope I helped. I used the google translator to write here. sorry | |
