Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. hello. I had a question. I receive the nasicornis from Tanzania, caught in the nature. I wait for 2 steams. Would like to learn, whether there is at whom from you an experience of adaptation of wild animals of this kind? How to me them to adapt, on what from the beginning to pay attention? Hi,
I agree with Fabian.

Also, Keep the snake well away from other herps in isolation for at least three months , gastric problems can take ages to show up in large bitis.
Steralise all equipment that comes into contact with the snake before using on any other animals.
Give the snake plenty of privacy , and if it does feed watch it's water intake and see if it becomes bloated in appearance.

If bloating does become evident then there is a good chance the snake has a problem and will regurge , or defecate a watery mess.

The film is not present. nasicornis on photo avatars has already died. Other two steams to me yet have not brought. Promise to bring when weather will be warmer, now coldly. They are taken prisoner in November so long cannot arrive to me and when will arrive, I think, will be in bad health. In Russia it is difficult to buy from us these snakes in good health, and kids born in a captivity at all do not sell (them there are no at anybody) thanks for councils, and for references.

Hi,
Sorry the snake died. If your other nasicornis were captured in November and are still alive they may have more of a fighting chance. Some dealers will sell the animals in poorest health first.

Let us know if the others arrive.

Hi Aleksandr.
Wild caught nasicornis can be tricky but you got the right advice from Al and Fabian already.
If the seller is not reputable or willing to guarantee them as feeding then do not waste your money unless you are getting them for a really cheap price because you will have to be prepared (financially and emotionally!) to see a good exotic vet to save what there is to save.
This would be a worst-case scenario but not impossible at all.

I buy them at the price of 220 dollars for a head. But in Russia it is very difficult to buy animals from us in good health. That which has died, health has been bought for 250 dollars in bad. I wished to buy born in a terrarium, searched for a floor of year, have not found. New four has ordered in Ukraine, the seller promised that will be in good health, but taken prisoner so a long time in my opinion cannot be in good health.

it's variously. my a.ceratophora live one year and eat frogs, but philothamnus died after six months
