| Sorry if there's already another topic like this one!
Now, my question is, is there anyway of shipping venomous snake to Bulgaria from countries in Europe? And how's that way, is it legal?

| Hi
I'm shure there are legal ways, if you have all papers and permissions....but not if you're 15 years old......

| it's just an ethical issue, some of the people here a good breeders, and are not meant to support a minor to keep dangerous snakes wich are dangerous for you and your familly and you are not legaly responsible of your snakes, so like it's forbidden to show porn or violence to children it's also ethically forbidden to help them maintaining venomous snakes, there are laws in europe so in a legit forum we do all respect that! sorry to desappoint you. good luck | |

| Hello Georgi
I had a lot of vipera ammodytes at 12 but looking back not very wise. Wait mybe 3+ more years and if you really want venomous snake buy some african tiger snake or some othe backfanged colubrid with mild venom and one you can tame. Your imune system is still in development and you can have serious consequences if you get bitten. For later my advice is to start with one of Akgistrodon Contorix Subspecies before you buy some really venomous and fast snakes. I dont know what kind of experience you have. Just an advice.
Regards, BKK | |

| I have rattlers ! I'm careful, I had a female Bitis arietans 80-100cm and she died, started having some eggs in her self, never lived with a male though and she died! | |

| I do not know the laws in Bulgaria, but as a member state of the EU I guess it won't differ so much from other countries. Anyway, if Your parents allow You as a 15 year old kid to keep venomous snakes or if the allow You at least to get near to them (open terrarium) they are in prison with one foot right now. I'd better not post here in the web that they are doing so in Your case | |

| Hi Georgi At 15 I don’t think you fully understand the potential of your animals to kill or maim you. I was also 15 and I also thought I knew snakes and was careful with them. I’m not saying this to discourage you but rather to encourage you. Venomous snakes are dangerous animals many of the species kept kill people in their natural range. You should learn as much as you can from harmless snakes. So many harmless species are just as challenging, interesting and beautiful as venomous ones. As a venomous reptile keeper you have major responsibilities towards yourself, your family and neighbors, at 15 I don’t think you can comprehend this. I’m sure if you look around you will find some non venomous snakes that will suite your tastes and aspirations very well. While you are learning how to work with snakes you could find a competent adult venomous snake keeper who can act as a mentor for you. This is the best and safest way to learn. Good luck

I'd better not post here in the web that they are doing so in Your case There are no laws for venomous snakes in Bulgaria but soon there will be. I've tried to make him understand that he doesn't have enogh experience to keep hots but he doesn't listen. Not long ago a kid was bitten by a durissus in Bulgaria but fortunate for him it was a dry bite. C. durissus has been bred several times in Bulgaria and a lot of unexperienced people own a durissus. The sellers don't care who they sell them to they are just in it for the money.

| you are right that there will be laws soon. hopefully there will be laws that dont allow under 18yr old to keep venomous in all countries. situation with C.durissus breeding in there doesnt sound good... things that happen in there can affect in other world too. like Michael said upper, there is enough interesting species that are non venomous. | |

I am quite sure that in Bulgaria parents are not allowed to endanger their kids in any way - including dangerous hobbies.

Most Bulgarians (especially those from the country) are very uneducated and think that snakes are dangerous and should be killed. I bet his parents don't know how dangerous are the snakes he has.

| Just an oppinion for this argument,
There is a fact that a lot of venomous snakes are kept by persons too young by law and with lack of eperience. I don't think of me of very experienced keeper and everybody make mistakes. I've learned a lot on this forum. This forum provides professional and amateur aspect of herpatology and the best way I ever foud on learning about keeping snakes. I keep snakes all my life venomous and nonvenomous (24 snakes - curently) and if when I was 15 something like this was available it would be very helpful. It's just my oppinion that raher than discourage young snake keepers try to give them good advice that will help them prevent future mistakes. They have allready made their mind and nothing will make them change it. I belive that some of members here kept dangerous snakes at home at 15 giving that we are from all over the world making them to some available at the front door. Help and guidance is the best way to help somebody and provide him/her with a good advice how to avoid gettig bitten when handling snakes. This forum has a lot of experienced keeper who can provide them with a good information.

| i think he is being fair to be honest and giving you sound advice to say that maybe you should wait til your a little older, the venomous community is small and they help each other out, if someone told me that a black mamba wasnt good for me and explained why then i would take what ever advice i was given. people will respect and listen to you and when you wre experienced then would possibly give you all the advice and help that you need. dont get me wrong im not having a go at you or anything as we all start from somewhere and we all learn. ive had hots now for 1 year and im still learning and would love to learn lots more, who wouldnt as its a great hobby. | |

And there never was a boy bitten by a cascavel in bulgaria, that was just a roumor! I know where you found that even! Gogo or Rosti !
