Today I had friend visiting me from Eastern city in Holland. And because the weather was nice we went to a nearby Dutch Nationalapark named "De Bieschbos"
I do not know a great deal about the local flora but I shot a bunch of pictures of it so maybe you guys can help me out with species :-)
The area is know for a population of earopean Beavers but they are only be seen in early mornig and close ot sunset.
And a little American pondturtle
Trachemys scripta troosti sunbathing on a pondleaf. I needed to zoom allot so its not the best shot.
This is a shot over a pond made by the beavers true giding the water true beaver dugged channels. And building of Dams. On the bagground you seen a sort of oberservation post.
This is a shot of the channel going to there burrow. In winter is everything quit clear but know its high summer the pond is fully overgrown with vegetation.
A shot of the otherside of the pond
A bigger turtle I believe a red eared slider
Trachemys scripta elegans as he was like 40 cm and the yellow eared slider
Trachemys scripta troosti does not grow much bigger than 25 cm.
But 2 species of reptiles in area of Holland that not inhabit one offical species of reptile it was still quit a nice finding. Even when I'm damm well realise they do not belong here.
As in every pond in Holland a waterchicken
Some gorgous flowers dwell well along the soaky banks of the pond I do not know there names unfortunally
Some shots of the Dutch bush LOL
But you are never really in nature its Holland and follow the path :-(
At the otherside typical Dutch farming ground but this is grass is kept short by a group of Goose
Some pictures of some great large mushrooms
A group of grazing and noisy Goos
Beavers chews off the bark from the tree so its dying and are easier to cut down by them. Smart animals .
The busy Bee :-)
A snail on a leave with a nice coloured house
A strange looking plant just growing little fruits on a stick
SOme parasite fungesh growing on a dead tree
