Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. Also, there will be download areas for scientific papers, Wallpapers and more. Again folks, we can only do that if you all help. Please send me a Private Message if you want to keep Venomland alive, i will provide you with the details on how to donate Money. For now, we can accept money from creditcards via skrill (please google it, its a free service - account-details will be forwarded to you) and paypal. All the best, and for a (hopefully) nice future of our Board. Mario

I got my first college acceptance letter today! So regardless of what the other schools say at least I have a place at Oklahoma State University! This was my second choice college so I am very good with that Smile
I haven't looked to much into Oklahomas exotic laws yet. Does anyone know their laws on venomous or other exotics? And are there are any special venomous related things I should be aware of there? Such as breeders, research facilities etc.

I have already tried google as I stated in that specific thread. I am having trouble weeding through the thousands of other laws regarding completely unrelated subjects to find what I actually need.... Thats kind of why I asked about it here.
I will be going to get my bachelors degree in Zoology and then onto vet school for another 4 years or more. My eventual goal is to work as a vet for a zoo- specializing in herps. If that doesn't work out I would settle for being the local that can actually treat the exotic animals as well as normal cats and dogs.

So better we do the work, right Jessica?
I've googled and got what You could not find in 1 minute. See the link in another thread where You asked the same question.

A hint:
Forums do not like the same questions asked multiple. Forums also tend to have a self regulation, where users who often do this simply get just a "use google" answer after a while ;-)

Please don't get me wrong, just a hint, nothing personal.

I realize this, but I have used google and haven't found what I am looking for. If I had I obviously would not have asked here. I responded to what you sent me. I found that site. It doesn't really help with reptile specific details and permitting. I have found other sites along the same lines and I have found some with very specific details but no links to any official sites where I can see that the information is true the processes I need to go through to acquire permits if there are any.
I wasn't asking anyone to do the work for me, just asking if anyone would know offhand where I could find the info (since I am having trouble). For example... If someone asked me about Florida reptile laws I could probably answer most questions and link them to specific Florida Fish and wildlife pages without having to google anything.
Is it so wrong to ask for help from others?

(This thread WAS titled "First Acceptance letter". Apparently it's not anymore... I was not meaning to create repeat threads, this one was more about getting into a college, thats why I placed it in off topic...)

If it were Austria, I'd try to ask the state government.
I in fact do not know if this is possible in the states but I guess it is.

That is probably what I will have to end up doing.... but the government is horrible and they are less likely to grant a permit or even to tell you the truth if they know what you are going to do with it. This is the case in Fl. at least... Hopefully other states are not as psychotic about it.
