| Snakes are coming under hide spot only if they need: pregnancy, digestion, change the skin. Maybe your male need less of heat thant his female. Vipera aspis zinnikeri ? from which locality ? | |

| aspis aspis. Locality is france. Exact place the breeder don´t know :-(
That with the sunspot is obvious. I´m surprised that he don´t hide after transport, new place and so on. My other ones where hide the first few days after moving in. | |

| Thanks. I like both. I could not decide with one I like more. So I take both. I like the almost red female and I like the contrast of the black/grey of the male | |

| Andre thanks for your opinion. I thought the same. But you have seen a lot more of aspis than I so your opinion is more worth than my. | |

| In fact the line is amazing. I could still see different Vipera aspis atra (I know that many do not recognize more ... ) in Switzerland, with a clear line on the back. For example, this is a Female met her last year The speech is still interesting. Expect other opinions and observations and see what it says Mr. Geniez. | |

| Pierre-Yves, the male look like more zinnikeri, but we can't be sure, cause we don't know the locality.....the female is definitively aspis aspis...... Greg: the last picture is absolutly awsome ! A very beautifull snake! | |

| The answer of Philippe Geniez is clear: "yes absolutely [is it a male zinnikeri?], but are you sure it's a male? Where is it ?????? I would like that in the Aquitaine coast is! but also perhaps of Spain."

| The answer of the breeder is: that both animals have the same mother.
So it is unlikely that one mother produce animals with different subspecies in one litter. When you are sure that the female is aspis apsis and the male aspis zinnikeri then how this is to explain?
I trust the breeder and I bet some of you will know him also. So I don´t think he was selling wrong declared animals. I think he even don´t have aspis zinnikeri (I don´t see them while I was at his place).
Perhaps it is just a variation?
I don´t know. But I know that I like these animals and I´m happy to bought them both
