| I recently bred a pair of A. p. leucostoma that are het for albino. One of the offspring turned out really light. Link to photo is posted below. Let me know your thoughts.

| Hi! the baby piscivourus look like this. I got babies from conanti and they looked exactly like this. So if I check the markings and coloration this is not a leucostoma its a conanti. anybody else agree or disagree? Conanti got the 2 very dark brown stripe from the eyes and back and also the 2 brown stripes from the top of the nose all the way down to the cheek. so I am almost certain this is A p conanti reg Mats | |

The other one looks very different. Its more dull and not as contrasting. Typical of piscivorus.

| I agree that they look different, could it just be variation within the clutch? A pic with both snakes together would be nice, this way the lighting is the same... etc. | |

It could be. The lighting is the same. I took both photos in the exact same place and with the same settings on my camera. I am having a hard time figuring out how to attach photos to my posts on here. Thats why i have been puttting them on Facebook. If anyone could enlighten me it would be appreciated. Thanks, Clint

| Clint, not trying to rain on your parade - but many baby piscivorus have that much color or more. Does not mean it won't be nicely colored as an adult - in a year you'll have a better idea. That's the thing with cottonmouths, the brightest colored babies can turn into average-colored adults. | |

| i'll have to go with matt on this one looks like a conanti but either way it's just a nice normal neonate i've seen bright one turn to a almost black when they mature. good luck on that albino project i know theres been some problems with the genetic line for a while now. i have some friends working with the leusistics they are incredible. | |
