| the parent's seems to be normal phase, my friend who keep the blue ones have very different snakes! he said there is three morph high green(commonly seen in nature) normal phase(commonly seen in nature) and blue phase(the ones i've seen are less saturated but very close to this) my friend have the three morphs but maybe my screen is bad calibrated | |

| @ Bartholin: Yes, the last picture is that, what I call blue. I see such a snake only one time. And that was in Hamm. It was a WC from Costa Rica. Very blue, but it was not in best condition. The snake on your picture looks very good. | |

| & Bartholin, your blue one is really blue . But in this coloration it is very,very rare. My B.lateralis blue are very different to the "normal ones". I don`t heard about a third variant till now. But in nature, there are so many individual color differences. So far I know there are no sciantifically proven studies that the blue animals are genetically different of the green animals. If someone has information I would be glad to read this here. Who breeds also regularly Bothriechis lateralis? best regards Philipp | |

| Congrats Philipp on your sucess!!
@Bartholin and Peter,
The pics of lateralis that Batholin posted were of animals I owned and were captive born in Costa Rica produced in captivity by Robert Meidinger. I had 1,1 of the blue phase lateralis. The male expired last year, however the female is being kept by a friend in North Carolina. I have spoken to Robert several times, in hopes to get another female.

| Congrats in deed! It's not common to see cb B. lateralis. If you want, you could share some info of the breeding this sp. Did you withnessed the copulation, I mean witch time of the season it happened? How long was the gestation time?
I had 2.1. of these beauties and they copulated on "winter" time.
I will be nice to see the colour change.. so post pics when that happens (hope they carry the blue gene).

| That snake looks sweet! I hate that my female died while pregnant. BTW. if anyone needs a "blue" male I have one.
Good luck with the babies! | |
