| Hi Marco ; You have a beautiful room with beautiful cages. It is handmade and it is a specific brand ? Very nice your pets with my preference for gabonica gabonica | |

| Hello Piero
Thank you! Pictures from the other rooms will follow.
All the white coloured cages are handmade. The other ones are bought. The decoration and the back walls are handmade.
The B. gabonicas are also my favorites.
regards

| It's always a pain for me, to think about obliquely running walls for my Snakeroom. It's so much wasted room in me eyes. I'd like to stack my cages or place them on something, so that i don't have to prone, to watch my snakes. Anyway! You have quite beautiful and nice enclosures for your fosterlings!
Best regards. | |

@ Sebastian: Thanks!

| Hello Christian
Thank you...as i wrote on top some other picture's will follow this week. Everything you see on my pic's like the peace of wood, stones or the leaves is all from the forest.
I haven't "cleaned" it. What means no pre-treatment with heat (for example in the oven at about 150°C). I think it is not necessary but this is only my opinion.

| The habitats are a "feast" to the eyes. I enjoyed my "stay" in your serpentarium. They could be raised up on "tall" stands for viewing, but I also like how they look at the lower position. | |

| Thank you Ronald! For me it is nearly the same as my other cages which are stacked. And with 1.1 B. gabonica, 1.0 C. atrox and 1.1 C. horridus "atricaudatus" i have some let's say "relaxed" snakes in the cages so it is not a big problem to handle them!
I think with some cobra's in there it would be completly different! ;-)

| Great looking snakes and cages. I am really wanting to try out "naturalistic" type enclosures, much more pleasing to the eye and probably more comfortable for the snake over a sterile tub enclosure.
Are you heating the cages strictly with light bulbs? This seems to be the most cost effective way of heating large wooden enclosures.

| Hi Brian
Yes i am heating only with the light bulbs. But this year i get some problems with the temperature of my rooms. The last few days here in germany were very hot. The room temperature is round about 30°C (sorry i am to lazy to convert it to F). So i have to change all my light bulbs to a lower watt level. That means in the 3 big cages 50W light bulbs and in the smal cages 25W so i think it's still bearable.

| Marco,
I've had the same trouble with under tank heat pads on glass enclosures, having to unplug heat entirely in the summer. I guess the reason I am hesitant to use bulbs is because it seems they are considered "old technology" in favor of things like Radiant heat panels.
But hey, "If it aint broke, don't fix it"

| Hi Marco,
Are you sure about your Agkistrodon bilineatus howardgloydi? They look Agk. b. bilineatus X Agk. contortix spp. for me.

Why are you thinking about Agk. b. bilineatus X Agk. contortix spp.? I am very interested to get some feedback from you , do you have some pics available from "real" A.b. howardgloydi? I can't find pics in the net? Do you have some information how to determine this species? There are only a few infromations about the howardgloydis in the net. regards Marco

| The head markings and the body pattern are strange. I just observed the two small dots on the top of the head, which is also strange, because as I know it's characteristic for contortix spp.
Could you send me full body photos (top/bottom) and close up photos of the head (top/bottom/side)? Your snakes are very interesting, after reading Gloyd and Conant's Agkistrodon book again, my first opinion can be wrong and it can be taylori instead of bilineatus.
If you PM me your email I can send you the howardgloydi description from Gloyd and Conant's book.
The howardgloydi photos: Unfortunately I'm not allowed yet to post links, so I sent them in PM...
