| Respect is essential, but fear is never a good situation. So do not worry and put it in a terrarium with adequate hiding options, then it is perhaps a little more calm.

| Of course .. you can die if you get bitten by a baby kaouthia! My advice is that you let someone else take care of the cobra until you have gained more experience and read some more about snakes before it happens any tragic accident.
Regards! | |

| "to worry a lot" about the danger possibly coming from that animal and not knowing "what to do when it arrives" isn't a good premise to start with venomous and especially fast elapids.
Do yourself (and the snake) a big favour and give it to a serious, experienced keeper immediately!
You should educate yourself then in basics of venomous keeping and learn as much as you can about the snakes you want to keep before you start adventures like this.
From what i've been reading in your posts (including the funny spelling of kaouthia (kalhua) in your very first post some days ago) i must have the very strong impression that you are not ready for this snake, and you might be in danger and/or not able to care properly for it. regards Peter | |

| A wise decision, congrats! Wish you all the best for finding a serious keeper, and maybe a mentor to teach you in basics of venomous keeping - if you still want to start some day.... take care! regards Peter | |

| very nice my friend just use caution if your not sure on this animal if you are cautious and nervous then rehome him asap. if you cant get it rehomed soon cld i suggest maybe making a trap box? that way for cleaning it or water changes wait till its in the trap box then close the door. then you can clean it without needing to touch the snake however if your that uneasy id rehome it asap. as sooner or later you may have to get hands on and if your uneasy and afrade thats not a good thing. as for shedding i spray all my hots dailly from the moment the eyes go white untill the day they shed ive never had a bad shed yet. good luck mate and stay safe | |

| +1 to shift/trap box.
If you don't have experience with hot snakes the shift box is (in my honest opinion) absolutely necessary. No matter how much time you will keep this snake before give it away, accidents could happen with 10 years or 10 minutes of handling.
So...good luck..and be safe !
