Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. Also, there will be download areas for scientific papers, Wallpapers and more. Again folks, we can only do that if you all help. Please send me a Private Message if you want to keep Venomland alive, i will provide you with the details on how to donate Money. For now, we can accept money from creditcards via skrill (please google it, its a free service - account-details will be forwarded to you) and paypal. All the best, and for a (hopefully) nice future of our Board. Mario

Hello Vasil,

I wish that somebody will help you soon, personnely i often read that they need to be force-feeding.
Perhaps if you try with some fish...Tease them, touch the tail to make them bite on the food items. Sometimes it can work after time. Did you try the evening?
Let them in a quiet place, not to stress them too much when you don't try to feed them.
Regards
Fred

Hi

I achieved good results with very "hot" babymice in connection with absolute silence, very slow movements and a dark ambiance. Hope you have luck in the future...
All the best!

try to Feed them with parts of mices First. Mabye only the head or a legg, babymices can be to big and haevy!
Here it has worked with fucata, venustus and cardamomensis. Feed only One in One Box, after it has bite and has the food in the mouth - let them alone! MABYE it takes a lot of time, but in Most cases it works. Very good results I have had with feeding them with parts of frogleggs.

Just put them into boiling water for a few minutes and try to feed them directly, move slowly and it should be dark in the room with no distraction around the terrarium(!). As Peter said be careful with the size of the preyitem, it shouldn´t be too large. With this procedure my Schleg´s and Trimeresurus trigonocephalus startet feeding on their own. Good luck!

Hi, Vasil,
if your albolabris' aren't eating yet, I'll try help you (maybe it works).
My aspidelaps l. l. 1.1 weren't eated up today. I tried too: mices, rats, their parts... But didn't works. So, recently I tested with rabbit meat. I cutted to 1cm x 5mm piece. WORKS! Known snakes weren't stressed.
Until now snakes were force-feeded with mouse's pinkies.
I believe your snakes will eat! Smile

With best wishes,
Nojus

If you put one tree viper in its own quart jar, with about one inch deep of mulch or gravel, and a small branch to hang on. Mist the jar down with room temp water, hang a clamp light above the jars est. 12 inches over with a 40 watt bulb. After about 2 or 3 days throw 1 frog in each jar I think you will have them up and running. If they do not feed after one night remove the frogs ,and try again in a couple days.

Shouldn't be that difficult using frogs - most Trimeresurus juveniles feed readily on frogs.
Many keepers of Trimeresurus albolabris or similar species do not have frogs available year round (at least those living in temperate zones) or do not want to use'em due to conservation issues.

Therefore the question should be how to get the youngsters on unproblematic and easy available food like mice pinkies.
