The 2nd Annual International Biodiversity Conference is an opportunity for colleagues around the world to travel to Baños, Ecuador, July 29-Aug 3, 2008, present relevant research, join/collaborate with fellow international experts, and participate in a most unique professional conference. Sponsored by Nova Southeastern University’s Environmental Science/Studies Program, NSU’s Conflict Analysis and Resolution Department, and Wild Spots Foundation, interested parties are invited to submit abstracts. General categories include biodiversity and environmental conflict resolution, protecting endangered/threatened species, ecological biodiversity research projects, biodiversity in a changing climate, GIS and spatial ecology research, and innovative environmental education programs. Please join us at this groundbreaking, globally significant conference that will be held in one of the most isolated, unique, and easily devastated keystone ecosystems on Earth—the cloud forest. If you have an interest in attending, please e-mail a confirmation to barkerb@nova.edu. The conference registration fee is $300 and the travel package costs $1890, which includes r/t air from Miami, lodging, breakfasts, ground transportation, entrance fees, and a field trip to Puyo to photograph orchids in the rainforest. Please submit abstracts (200-300 words) now to Dr. Barry W. Barker, barkerb@nova.edu, or call 954-262-8303. | |
