Parias sumatranus

Hello everybody!

As Parias sumatranus is one of the nicest of the Trimeresurus s. l.-group, I think it´s necessary to start a topic on them. I kept one adult wildcaught female for half a year (the male died 9 days after arrival Crying or Very sad

), but had to give her away, as my flat didn´t cope well with the high humidity (mildew infest). She is from Kuala Lipis in Western Malaysia, a friend of me is keeping her now.

This species defenitly represented how a snake has to be.
Perfect optik, with perfect adult size with perfect ability to built nice enclosures.

And what is best. As babies they look not spectacular but as adult ones and not vice versa.

and thanks for the flowers. This is really a nice species.
And to the cage: I try to rebuild the nature as good as I can for every species I keep. Not with every plant from the correct habitat, but in my opinion the inside of a terrarium has look as a part of the natural environment. If you made a photo and you can´t say if it has been made in the wilderness or in a cage, than the result is perfect.

As the others said, she looks great! And stunning photos as well, I think the high price for your new flash was worth it. I never had any doubts, that I gave her in good hands. Hopefully I can get a male to her for you soon. I work on it...

Last week I`ve check the dates about this snake...

144 cm and 790g

I get this snake one year ago with 136 cm and 520g
