Frédéric: I really cant say, i haven't seen that many so i can't tell if it is commun or not. I have seen a group other then my adults and these babies that has had some striping.

| I think there are not so many D. palaestinae in Europe. The distrubution from D.palaestinae is closed for export. Only sometimes few animals come over, however. So the genetic Pool is quite small here and than somthing like that come out. My animals are soon ready to breed.I guess some hatchlings will also "striped" But this is future.

| @ Daniel: Hello, thank you for your answer, i saw many Daboia palestinea pictures but rarely seen some striped... @ Hans-Jürgen: Hello, so you think it might be because we haven't enough new blood... I bet that in the future it could be more and more difficult to get wild animals, so it would be interesting to take care of the captive population in a genetic point...well the striped ones are nice (personnaly i prefer the "zig-zag type") but after many generation of cross-breeding, aren't you afraid about the emergence of malformation, smaller animals or infertility? Just wondering myself... Thank you for your opinion! Regards | |

| I have a striped female and a normal male, I do not think they will be ready for breeding this year, but will be ready for the next year. I also prefer the normal zig-zag pattern. Cheers, Brian. | |
