| Hi Curtis Your question about the Cowlesi. I would not like to take a bite from them as I reckon they are quite a bit more toxic than Lubricus and Scutatus. I have has a couple of Lubricus bites and a couple of Scutatus bites with hardly any ill effects. Definitley no neurotoxic symptoms. Mainly blood blisters over the fang punctures, small amount of swelling, glands in armpit tender for a day or so and a couple of weeks later the skin sloughed off around the bite site. That is not to say that someone else might not have more severe symptoms but all of these have been from feeding reactions so in all cases some venom was injected. The Cowlesi on the other hand are a lot faster, more prone to bite and the mice die a lot quicker! Cheers Gavin | |

| Gavin, Thanks for you answer. I've checked out a few sites about cowlesi, and if I recall, they have caused death in a few cases. I know they have some neurotoxic qualities to their venom. I know my little male is fast, and has thrown a few stikes at the hook. | |

| Do you have any info on the locality of those? Those are especially stunning. I've been breeding them for years and would love to add that locality if you have any interest in exporting to the U.S..
Very nice though!
Cheers! Terry | |

| Interesting Andrew...those are fantastic and please do keep me in mind down the road. I'm a huge A. l. lubricus fan. Are feeding troubles common with those? I've never had a baby that didn't feed voraciously right out of the egg..post shed. Also, I routinely have had girls double and triple clutch with and without continual male introductions...very cool little snakes indeed! Cheers! Terry | |
