| this species is always somehow mystic to me, i have eight heads Naja siamensis, i cant find two same looking snakes among them, everyone looks different but all beautiful. two of my younger females have a heart on their back (try to find a picture of it later).
my siamese spitters never spit at me, not the babies nor the adults - they never did! i got one nearly white male, very nice specimen, from peter - (i think the snake is from Markus Kreutzer??)... he was very shy when he first arrived, but now - it looks like i can feed him out of my hands (of course i would not do so!), he feels safe and secure and is therefore calm and not defensive. one thing i noted with the babies, they stand up much higher than other cobras and suddenly fell on their backs all the time, very funny to watch!
thanks for sharing your picture Randy!
cheers Mario | |

| I have 2.6 and a gravid female that just shed yesterday, and they are all at least a little different to completely different. Abberant hood markings pop up now and then. Yes, they are fun to watch. Tipping over backwards all the time. The one pictured has never spit. I told Jerry, the photographer, that he never spits, but Jerry still set up his camera on the tripod about 8 feet away. My buddy and I were on the left and right of the snake about 3 foot away, but he spit at Jerry and got venom all over his expensive lens. First and only time he has spit in the 5 years I've him.

| Nice animal! We have 2 pairs of them as well, bigger female should lay eggs next month, as they breed for us always that time of year... Peter`s and Mario`s almost white specimens are amazing, I had a luck/possibility to see both of them... Peter | |

| These "high white" siamensis, bred by Michael KREUZER, Germany, belong to the most attractive color forms of the Indochinese Spittung Cobra. Unfortunately, breeding of these guys was not very successful; many of the babys died as hatchling, few of them survived and reached maturity, as Michael told me. The reason of this problem has not been definitely proofed yet, might be inbreeding perhaps. Last year, he bred one of this white specimen with a dark one, and everything was normal. (You own one of these, Mario) My own breeding couple should be ready to breed now, we'll see. They're five years old and showed some pre-mating behaviour last year already. Cheers Peter | |

| yes in deed, the high white are amazing snakes... my females are all much to young to have any attempt from breeding, at least for the next 3 years... so my boy need to be patient and wait for his "shoot" Naja siamensis, male - the animal Peter was mentioning in his post earlier. @peter, ill cross my fingers for your pair! hope there will be a success this year! @randy, you can relax! the group, forming up here at this forum is very special, lots of our members have some really interesting animals, we always swap our offspring around us. you welcome to join! cheers Mario

| I'll join you guys I love this species. (like all cobra's) I have 1.1 and I have to say the act like true.......cornsnakes... They only react defensive when I take photographs. It looks to me like they think the lense of the camera is an eye. Cheers, Jelmer | |

| Naja siamensis is one of my favourite species and all the shown siamensis are really beautiful. I like the different looks, but mostly almost white animals. At the moment I keep 1.1 Naja siamensis, my male ist a quite white animal CB 06, my female is a banded black and white animal CB 07, both were hatched by Michael Kreuzer. When I got my male it was very shy and nervous, now he's observing but calm and defensive. I've never seen him spitting. and the reverse... my female. When I got her she was very calm. Now she's sometimes like a fury, she also realized that she is a spitting cobra . I hope and think that this is only temporary and changes when she gets older. Here are some pictures of my N. siamensis: male: and my female - baby: unfortunately I can't show better pictures of her because she's very shy and I don't want to disturb her only to take some pictures. so this is the only current picture of her: Martina | |
