| Yesterday still was a great day. From my samarensis I got 8 fine eggs (1 seems to be not ok). The eggs looks different to each other. Some are not so long and roundish...other ones are longer/longish. I was a little bit surprised that the eggs are so big. I think they are as big as mein Naja kaouthia eggs. Does anyone know if somebody have breed this ones still in Germany? At the moment I feel pretty lucky Lets see when they will hatch. | |

| Congratulations, lucky man I'm still waiting for my own clutch(es), no female seems to be gravid at this time. My first samarensis eggs heve been laid on June 5th two years ago, so their's still time to hope.
Very interesting to see some of the samarensis-buyers killed their animals within a few weeks, whereas others keep them alive and breed them..... Good lucck for the time of incubation. Cheers Peter

Hi Harold, Peter is reffering to another thread, check "WC vs. CB, Prices etc." under "Herp-culture". That will tell you more... Best regards, Peter P.

| So after the first days the eggs look pretty good I incubate them at a temperature of 27,5°C - 28,5°C Just another Question. Does anyone know of (legal) captive born Naja samarensis in Germany. Or would that be the firstbreed in Germany? | |

| Hi Carsten As far as I know, Marios exports of Naja samarensis have been the first and only ones in a complete legal way. I never heard about samarensis breedings in Germany, there's one person in Switzerland who bred them for a couple of times. His breeding adults must have left the Philippines illegallly, but they might be legal in Switzerland due to a stopover in some other country, I guess. Cheers Peter | |

| First of all, there is only one "fellow" samarensis keeper here in Germany - unless Peter have sold some here in Germany.
So don´t worry. You must be the first.

| Some new infos...or rather not many new information.
Today is Day 68 and still nothing hatched. Until one week ago I´ve incubated them on 27 1/2 - 29 degree without drop at night. After I´ve seen a little dent on an egg I put the incubation temperature a little bit down. Now it´s ~27 - 28.
The 6 eggs looks ok...and I hope that something will hatch soon. I´m wondering about the long incubation. The kaouthias hatched all the years after ~58 Days (Temperature 27,5-29 C).

| 85 Days...wow...thats long for cobras or not? I just wonder a little bit about this long incubation. You incubated at a temp. of 27,4 C and 0,5 drop at night? From all my incubated eggs (corn snakes, kaouthia´s, burmese python, cerastes) they hatched after round about 60 days. The temperature was always 27,5 - 29,0 degree...only the temperature for the burmese was higher (31 C). Ok then I´ll have to wait and drink some tea | |

| i incubate my naja samarensis eggs between 26,4 to 27,3°C, never stable always changing temp. i do not believe in stable temperatures. in nature, there is nothing like stable conditions.
