Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. Also, there will be download areas for scientific papers, Wallpapers and more. Again folks, we can only do that if you all help. Please send me a Private Message if you want to keep Venomland alive, i will provide you with the details on how to donate Money. For now, we can accept money from creditcards via skrill (please google it, its a free service - account-details will be forwarded to you) and paypal. All the best, and for a (hopefully) nice future of our Board. Mario

I also do not think it is a real colormorph. I think it is more like Naja siamensis but than with brown instead of black. Also some German guy had a wildcaught specimen like this for sale last year. Like Ro said this is probably just a colorform from a specific locality Smile

Anyway, they are the best looking cobras ever!

Could still be a morph ofcourse. Wink

I agree Stefan, hopefully I can provide you with some next year.

@Stefan2; Thanks mate!

Cheers, Ro.

I had a conversation about these animals with the guy I got them from. He got them from a mutual friend who bred his WC pair and produced the 3.3 that I had. I traded a pair to a another friend and I still have 2.2.

I figured that these are a color/pattern morph that is common on one or more Island(s) in the Indonesian Archipelago. For years the normal dark brown coloration of Naja sputatrix was being brough into the USA. Lately, it seems that this color/pattern morph has been coming in more than any other of sputatrix.

I wish I knew who has brought these in, so we could find out who they imported them from, and then maybe find out what the real deal is with them. But, even if we knew the exporter, he may not want to tell us much about where they found them, as that may cause more people to go find them and cut his income, when all I really care to know, is what they are, and why they are colored like they are.

But, I would almost bet my life they are just a morph that is common on some island or Islands.

Randy

I was cleaning a couple of my cages since they were redecorated without my permission... Evil or Very Mad
So I shot some pics of my female Suphan amel. I called her an albino before but I think the breeder was right that these are amelanistic instead of albino. Allthough that is not that clear on these pics, she's a tiny bit too 'whitish' on these photos I think.

Nice Ro, They still have the Suphanish head coloring, but definitely lighter body color than normal Suphan specimens.

Thanks.

What you said about the head is correct. You can besides the head also see her color well on this picture.

Not just lighter but a whole other color I think?

Oh please Stefan, just edit your text. I don't care and I don't want a debate in my topic. I saw who was online and I know who did it. Nobody will take those reputationthings serious if not used in a discussion. It's to childish to respond and bad for venomland.

Cheers, Ro.
