| Well, it's starting with the Naja kaouthia. They normally breed before the other Asian Naja species. My pair of normal Naja kaouthia bred for several hours today. They are supposed to be Het Albino. I guess we'll see. The pair of Suphan Naja kaouthia are acting like they are going to breed as well. Fingers crossed. I have a pair of Albinos together, and I have a few females that I will attempt breed with my Blizzard (Sunset x Leucistic) Naja kaouthia. The rest of the Asian Naja will start breeding in January. | |

| Thanks Ro. I am expecting a lot more offspring this year, especially if a bunch of the Naja kaouthia breed. I hope I wasn't too late. Most people start breeding them in mid Oct - early Nov. here in America. I hope I didn't miss some of them. The Het Sunset, Possible Het Lecusitic female bred on Dec 6 last year, and produced a nice clutch, so I'm not worried about her yet. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, so I will open the window in the room where they are breeding and should start to go nuts breeding if they are ready. | |

| Today I found the Blizzard Naja kaouthia male breeding one of my Suphan females. This is the first breeding for both of these specimens, as was the breeding of the Normals above. I have two, maybe three more females to breed to the Blizzard male. | |

| Thanks guys. Yes, starting out good.
I saw the oxiana breed on 02/22/11, but they may have bred before that, and she laid on 04/08/11. In 2008, I first put them together on 02/18/08. I actually saw them breed on 03/15/08 and 03/21/08, and she laid on 05/02/08. I will start trying all 3 females before the earliest date the oxiana have ever bred, just in case.

Sounds like a plan Randy. Okay, so we have to wait a little for the oxiana. Keep us posted about other breedings! Cheers, Ro.

| Yes, we have a lot of time before the oxiana breed.
Sorry Stefan. I was thinking about that when I was writing it, haha, but I figured I would try to teach you Europeans how to do it right, haha.

| Ours is making more sense. Days, Months, Year. Just like 1,2,3 instead of 2,1,3. When will you try the sputatrix? I will start with those within a month or two. Cheers, Ro. | |

| Actually, in America, people write the date all three ways, but usually they say November 28, 2011 (11/28/11).
I asked Stefan how big your and his sputatrix are, and I think he said they are about 1 meter. Mine are not that big. Not even close. Mine are 2009's, but the guy that I got them from, had a hard time getting them going as hatchlings, so they are not as big as they should be or could be. I may try them, but if they do not breed this year, they will breed next year. I could possibly have 18 - 19 Asian Naja breedings this year, so if the sputatrix do not breed, it is ok.

| My sputatrix are all bigger than one meter. The largest female is probably 1,5 meters. Yeah you have enough other good stuff but I really want another pair sputatrix so I keep my hopes up.
Cheers, Ro. | |

| Thanks James, and good luck with your breedings. Show us what you have breeding or hope to breed. It is slow here on Venomland. Since your in S.C., I reckon I will see ya the Columbia, S.C. show in March.
Wow Ro. Mine are not close to 1 meter I don't think. I'll have to measure them to be sure. I have an adult normal dark brown male sputatrix that isn't 1.5 meters. That is about max size for sputatrix. I will check and see if mine are even close to 1 meter. If they are, I will try breeding them.

| Are your sputatrix not over 1 meter Randy? Than they probably won't breed this year yet. My male sputatrix is 1,2 meter and Ro's sputatrix ranges from 1,2 to 1,5 meter His biggest female is huge and a really cool snake! | |

| Hey Bret, I am not sure what the hatchlings will look like from the Suphan x Blizzard breeding, but they will be 100% Het Blizzard (Sunset x Leucistic), and probably 100% Het for the Suphan Color Morph. I don't think anyone has done a breeding with these two morphs before, at least I haven't heard about it, so I have no idea what they will look like. I can export to South Africa, if you can import.
Hey Stefan, I haven't measured the sputatrix yet, but I don't think they are 1 meter. According to WW's Asiatic Naja site, sputatrix max size is about 1.5 meters, rarely more, so they should breed at 1 meter, maybe even less. I have had 6 normal dark brown sputatrix and none of them got over 1 meter. We'll see what happens.

| Randy, I have been researching kaouthia genetics for a while now. My theory is that suphan is a super form of the co dominant trait, banded. The banded monocles seem to be present in clutches when a suphan is bred to a normal, or any other morph for that matter. Banded kaouthia are hands down in my opinion the best looking monocle morphs. Some people label the banded as het suphan. But when bred together produce suphans. If you breed banded to normal you get 50/50 clutches. The bandeds are variable but tend to be a nice light color with green and gold undertones! I will post a pic of my banded later today.

| Thanks for the info Joe. Can't wait to see the banded. I do like them as well. I have a normal female that is fairly banded. I am wondering if she is what your talking about. | |
