| This years breeding is starting out pretty good. Possible Double Het Leucistic/Sunset Naja kaouthia 26 eggs on 1/30/11 CB'06 male and CB'07 female Naja sumatrana bred on 1/10/11 CB'06 male and another CB'07 female Naja sumatrana bred on 1-29-11 CB'05 Sri Lankan Naja naja bred on 1/25/11 My original male and female Naja sumatrana will probably breed again in mid-Feb to early-March as is their normal breeding time. I should also get Suphan Naja kaouthia, Suphan x Normal Naja kaouthia, and maybe a second clutch of Naja naja, and a couple clutches of Naja siamensis, and hopefully Naja oxiana. I am looking to make trades this year for Naja samarensis, philippinensis, and atra. Randy | |

| Thanks Chaim The 07 female in the 4th photo is quite a bit smaller than the 07 female in the 3rd photo. Maybe that is why she is not as yellow. I have an 08 female that is bigger and more yellow and with less brown speckling, than the female in the 4th photo. These normally get more and more yellow as they grow, but we will have to wait and see what happens with that female. | |

| Wow impressive Naja sp. you have! All of them are exceptional beautys of their species!
So I guess you expect some perfect white leuz. kaouthias? Are these white kaouthias hypo or suphan or how do you call it? Are there hom. leuzistic+sunset already existing? Can't imagine how they look like.
Best regards | |

| Thanks Jonas,
The Possible Double Hets bred last year for the first time, but only 7 eggs hatched and none were Leucistic or Sunset. One male that I still have is fairly light, but I don't think he is really orange enough to be called Sunset, so I am not really expecting to get anything special from that breeding, but you never know. More likely than not, the hatchlings will look more like the parents, the "Formosa" morph.
It is up for debate whether or not these so-called "Leucistic" kaouthia are technically Leucistic. As adults, they are pure white with blue eyes. There are also what is being called "Blizzard", and they are pure white with red eyes. Different than albinos which are varying shades of off-white to orange in color with red eyes. They are not Suphan morphs, but there may be some "Hypo" thing happening.
If you go to my website at the link below, you can scroll down and see the different morphs. My CB'10 "Leucistic" pair are not pure white yet. They are pink when they hatch and turn white as they age. You can see my "Blizzard" male, and he is pure white with red eyes.

| This blizzard morph looks very interesting! I've had an amel. suphan and the blizz doesn`t look like an amel suphan...too white in my opinion.
Which genetic backround does this blizzard have? Parents?
So we have "suphan" which is recessive and dirty white also with amel, so called "leucistic" which I've never seen (by the way I think there are also redeye leucists), and "blizzard" which could be a combination of hypo, amel or maybe suphan...or a redeye leucism!?
And "sunset" is also for sure recessive?
Sorry, try to organize this chaos a bit.

| The Blizzard is the red-eyed Leucistic morph you spoke of. All these came from the breeding of a pair of bright orange/yellow kaouthia. They were imported from Thailand when it was still allowed, and Mitch at Diamond Reptile breeders purchased them and started breeding them. The Sunset morphs, the Blue-eyed Leucistics and Red-eyed Leucistics, all came from the breedings started with that pair from Thailand. If you look back in the Naja forums on venomland you will find photos of adult "Leucistics", as well as other Sunset and Hypo kaouthia. I do not fully understand everything about these morphs. Mitch is the only person that knows everything for sure. I found this pair of N. siamensis breeding a couple hours ago. | |

| You have an incredible group of najas there... I like the sumatranas a lot, all four of them (and I usually prefer the african cobras over the asian species).

| Thanks everyone. I appreciate the kind words, especially when most of the Naja pictured were produced by breedings I made. Only the kaouthia were not produced by me. They were produced by Mitch (Diamond Reptile Breeders), and I raised them up.
Lourance, If you can import, I can export to you in the future. If not this year, next or whatever. | |

| I will be shipping 4 pair of 2010 sumatrana to Germany in a few months. One pair is going to Switzerland, so I'm sure you can get some later this year. I am looking to trade for samarensis, philippinensis, and atra, and any odd patterened/colored asian cobras, or you can pay for them outright.

| Today, I caught a 3rd female Naja sumatrana breeding. She is a CB'08 and the best looking female I have produced so far. By that I mean, she has very little brown speckling, compared to the others. The CB'06 male that she is breeding with is the best looking male I have produced as well. He is the same male that the other females bred with. The original pair is due to breed later this month, so I should get 4 clutches of Naja sumatrana this year. CB'06 male and CB'08 female Naja sumatrana bred on 02-04-11 | |

What do you mean, what size? Number of eggs per clutch? My original female has laid 7, 5, 6, 8, 10.

| On WW's site he states Naja sumatrana - Usually 90-120 cm, rarely 150 cm or more
My largest female is 127 cm, and she was a young adult when I got her on Nov. 14, 2001
My largest male is 143.5 cm and he was an adult when I got him Oct. 30, 2004
So, they are smaller Naja, and have the best personality of anything I have kept. They do not spit much at all, when outside their cages, and they stand and hood all the time. The hatchlings always eat good. Some have taken frozen thawed pinks for their meal.
