www.exotica.at - now with photo

Well ... I was on my first snake trade fair this sunday. I did not count the snakes and spiders and I did not count the people but there were so many animals - and still more people (as long as You do not count the mealworms, also selled there). Mostly cornsnakes, P. regius and so on, venomous were forbidden.
Some strange coloured P. regius up to 5000,- EUR (gulp).

I bought my first terrarium, some other stuff (spot, ...) because I finally could persuade my lady that I definitely need two snakes for my felicity.

And I took a very few photographs, here I'll show You one of a juvenile C. caninus just changing its colours.

Jakob and I also were on the exotica, I've got a nice pair of Zamenis persicus.

Right, venomous animals are not allowed but some VERY poisonous scorpiones are always sold, and I saw some nice Boiga and Dasypeltis, really cute
Ah yes, and if you have good eyes you'll find many Scolopendra sp. and some Phoneutria Wink

, sometimes black widows.

Which snakes do you want to get ?

I'll get a pair of L. zonata pulchra from Peter as soon as they feed and as soon as we find a schedule - Carinthia is about 350km from me ;-)
I am REALLY expecting them with a lot of pleasant anticipation!

I had my family with me at the exotica and they pushed a lot so I was in a hurry and did not give Jakob a call ... shame on me ;-)

Hmm maybe they are already feeding? If yes, Jakob an me could take them with us from peter on Wednesday ? But I think you want to get them by yourself and use the chance to make some more photos from Peters animals Laughing

Thanks Harold. This shot was not so easy ... low light.
1/30s handheld with a 150mm lens and f/6.3 at ISO 1600.
Way to little for a sharp shot. So I took 6 single shots with different focal planes and composed it lateron to the above image. Took me about 2-3 hours but I think it pays off.
