| Hi Everyone, Im after anyone who has made Natural looking terrariums and their advice experiences and pictures on ones you have already created! Im about to start setting up a wall of terrariums and plan to deck them all out with natural interiors, live plants etc. etc. Ive seen loads and made loads of my own in the past but I'm always looking to improve on what I've created and some that you gusy have made are real stunners so I'm after some hints and tips, best products to use, best methods etc. etc. Hope some of you can help! | |

| Matthew, maybe you should ask special questions to get special answers?
If you just want to see some examples of natural looking terrarium setups, well:

| It is important to know what kind of materials you can use: Single crystal, plexyglass or fiber glass timber. I am sending you some ideas according to your financial budget. " /> Its important to choose the place, it can be a tree, or rock... And prepare the material to obtain the piece you want starting with the mold. " /> Make the paste with latex and silicone, and put it in the rock.. " /> Let it dry, afterwards you have to put a kind of protection made of fiber glass timber, with that it will stay still. " /> " /> Take off the mold and with fiber glass make the piece. " /> You can decorate and paint it, with acrilic paint for a real landscape, dessert, forest, rainforest, cloudforest. " /> " /> With the branches is the same system. " /> [img] [/img] Hope its usefull, any questions dont hesitate to ask. | |

| Hello Manuel,
very nice idea, how do you make the trompe-l'œil effect, paintings or posters? In the picture with crotalus it seems it's painted directly on the background... However, very very nice effect, my complements.

| I don't see why you would like to copy nature while you can just get wood from the forrest and stones all around ?

| I do not see a reason for building artificial, but natural looking rocks or treeroots in such a time-consuming manner when the rest of the setting is far away from beeing natural. | |

| Hey Michael We do it to make it preatty for the viewer, its also beacuse its also really weight less and eassy to move. I have more of 50 vivariums like that and we explain in school the interaction with the specie and habitat. So the kids will relate the habitat with the snake in there. Thank you | |
