| Thanks to Peter Zürcher for the possibility. Please help with the correct identification - my knowledge of the bamboo pit vipers is more than humble Large eyed bamboo pit viper (tr. macrops):

| Beautiful photos. I enjoyed my short time keeping popes vipers. I don't think they are trimeresurus anymore. They are now popiea poporuim or something like that. There are some many of the trimeresurus family I'd like to try my hand at keeping. Trim Trigs are awsome. | |

| Wow, more great photos, Guenter! Your eye for composition is amazing and you obviously have very nice equipment. My favorites are the macrops and the second trim trig photos! | |

| Very nice pictures! Great work, i guess it´s not allowed to ask how many tounges were added? Especially the venustus picture is quite ominous ^^ cheers, Jakob | |

| Well Jakob, You seem to know me very well - the venustus tongue is a venustus tonge but in another picture.
All other photos were NOT manipulated except tones, contrasts and saturation. | |

| And the last species, we photographed this very evening: Cryptelytrops fasciatus, male It was interesting for me to hear from Peter Zürcher, that this species is endemic to a small island in Indonesia (Djampea Island), was not seen for decades after being first described and is now - after rediscovery - more commonly known. | |

| The first shot of the Tr. macrops (see the first photo in this thread) won me an honourable mention (i.e. certificate) at one of the best international photo competitions from Austrian organizers. This one and the other shots also summed up in an certificate (9th place) overall, which is a great pleasure and big surprise for me. http://www.fotoclub-lienz.at/tauern2009/preistraeger.pdf Thanks to Peter for the shooting possibility at New Years day | |
