| Great pics and outstanding animals, Christoph! That's the kind of pics I wanna see here: professionally done, well focused, just perfect in every way. I'm not sure to reach this level, we'll see. Greetings Peter | |

| The brown-yellow colored one is great. I thought that there are only grey and green ones. | |

| Christoph,
let us know a bit more... what is your temperature & humidity, any specialties? have you tried feeding them on other stuff then Lizards (sure some folks will cry, watching your snake eating Lizards)...
i was providing our Ahaetulla´s fish in their water-bowls, surprisingly, they catch them - over and over again...
@Jörg
well, you can find white, yellow, silver ones to - Ahaetulla is a incredible snake. super beautiful - almost like a racing-car designed and a very decorative species..
also, congrats to your Pics Christoph, well done...

| Good evening, Temps: during the day from 25-28 degrees and at night: 23 - 25 degrees. Humidity at the day: 75-80%, at night: 80-100%. @mario Unfortunately, my animals only eat different lizards. I've tried to feed them with fish, but the interest wasn't there. Only my adult male eats big babyrats. (never forced feeding!) Can you post your conditions (?Haltungsbedingungen?) and please post a picture during the feeding with fish! That would be extremely interested in me! What kind of fish you offer the animals? Thanks a lot! Greetings Chris Sorry, that my answer is always a little longer need. In German, I would be much faster

| @ Christoph Grad = degrees We'll have to pay attention to temperature notes, because some people, which might join in in the future (american citicens per example) do not have degrees Celsius, but Fahrenheit. Maybe we should explain the relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit somewhere on the board, Mario? Greetings Peter | |

| @Christoph - You mean that your yellow-brown ones fade to green as the parents? Or does this species have polymorphic genes, like Bothriechis schlegelii? | |

| I keeping this snakes since more than 15 years in captivity and had breedingsuccess as well. My experience with prasina feeding si as following. in the beginnig i took for my first prasinas asian housegeckos as food. No problem.
In Europe you know it is hard to getting continously lissards for food and I had my first trials with micefeeding. Normaly the snakes avoid to catching mice. I gave them very smal mice - pinkies. i took the snakes on the neck and pushed very sensitiv the pinky in the mouth. The snake started after a few minutes and a few trials to swallow. After that I repeat this procedure again and again. A few months later the snakes got interest in fast moving mice wich i gave in the cage and the start to eat by there self. Roughly after 4 to 6 month the changing from lizzards to mice where done and that with all of my A. prasina This trials I made in the beginnig of the 90ies. The oldest female I have is more than 10 years in my collection eat only mice by its self and I saw no negative effect to there condition. At the moment i having only one A.prasina because my time for my hobby is unfortunately very limedet and the work with the babies takes a lot of time and passion.

| Hi Christoph, sorry, i overlooked your question. unfortunately, i dont have picture of their feeding fish, we always introduce fish to many snake cages, in fact - we do so to have somethings at the water moving. well, by then i discover many surprises, for example, most arboreal pit-viper we keep, take fish from shallow water areas. the movement (see helmuts comment) seams to attract them to catch the fish as well. our purpureomaculatus, albolabris, venustus, flavomaculatus and some boiga species can be seen to take fish once in a while, directly out of the water.. we use guppys, they are everywhere here... if the snakes still eats fish if they are a bit bigger, we also have this sweetwater swordfish, you know the red ones (schwertträger).. our babys, i always keep them on a brunch over water (see picture), fish and tadpole´s, eventually they eat all, even if they are very tiny, like our C.fasciatus babies... no hassle in force-feeding or something is necessary. just my experience, Mario | |

| Hi Mario Thanks for your answer and the pic. It's very interessting for me to see how the pros solve such problems.
Strange is that I tried my animals with guppys to feed too. But there was no interest. Anyway, I will get it try this spring with self-cultivated tadpoles.
Thanks Chris | |

| Chris, great pics! And congrats on the offsprings. I have seen ad observed these snakesi n the wild. Apparently theyre common here in Singapore, mostly in nature parks and reserves.
Mario, thats is interesting to here that some of your snakes take fish directly out of the water. I guess the "bubbles" movement in the water entices them to hunt this way, its more like hunting in rivers right? great great great!!! | |
