| Good and Bad news. My original female N. sumatrana laid her eggs today, but she only laid 3 good eggs and 1 infertile egg. This is the least amount of eggs she has ever laid. She laid 4 good eggs a few years ago, but last year she laid 10, and 9 were good. These are the biggest eggs this female has laid. They are 3.25" x 1.25" (8.25 x 3.17 C). So I have 13 eggs incubating and 2 more females to lay, but I am keeping all the eggs from next female to lay, so I may only have 15 - 18 sumatrana available for sale or trades this year, depending on is and how many eggs the last female lays. | |

| Thanks Chaim, once again.
She is my nicest banded female. I have another banded female that has more white, but her bands are not as nice. I'm hoping to get a nice banded male out of this clutch or out of this females mother, that will lay later this month. Seems the banded forms, with close to 50/50 black and white banding are hard to come by. Usually they are more black, as black is probably dominate over white as in dogs, people and other animals.

| Thanks Sabastian
My clutch from the possoble double het kaouthia, started to hatch last night, and the first hatchling is out today. It is a "Formosa" phase of kaouthia like the parents.
Several more have pipped and I cut open the rest of the eggs, and as expected, I do not see anything that might me Sunset or Leucistic.

| The final 2 female N. sumatrana laid their eggs today. I have 29 eggs incubating from Naja sumatrana. 21 will available for sale or trade. 8 eggs from this female. No bad eggs. 8 eggs from this female and no bad eggs. I will keep all of these since she has the least speckling of all the sumatrana I have. | |

| Thanks, yes it will be busy soon. I am still waiting for a siamensis to lay eggs and hopefully the oxiana to lay eggs. I have a total of 73 Asian Naja eggs not including what the siamensis and oxiana lay. 22 of the 73 eggs hatched in the last couple days. They were possible double het kaouthia. I got 2 that look like they may be Sunset and one or two that look hypoish, and the others are normal dark brown, all with the aberrant hood markings. I'll post a photo after their first shed. | |

| Ok Joe and Patrick, here are photos. I emailed Mitch and sent him photos. He said I have 2 Sunsets, but I must send him a better photo after they shed to find out what the other light one is. Here is a photo of the first Sunset, a normal and whatever the middle colored one is Here are two photos of the 2nd Sunset | |

| Do you have any idea what the animal on the first pic in the middle could be? A "normal" het? while hidden genetic makes it look brighter though?

| As Joe said, maybe it is Hypo/Pastel. Or it could be a normal that is showing the "markers" for being het for Sunset. I'm not sure about the "markers" thing but another breeder of these kaouthia in USA came up with that, about another animals I got from him. | |

| More good and bad news. Good news: my N. oxiana female laid eggs today. The bad news: she laid 11 total and only 5 are good. In 2008 she laid 8 total and only 4 were good. It's better than a sharp stick in the eye. Maybe next year the 2 females from 2008 will be big enough to breed. | |
