| hahaha Thanks Peter, but I'm not expecting 40 eggs. My original female basically laid more eggs as she aged, so I'm expecting the young females to lay maybe 5 or 6, but you never know. I will expect about 25 eggs, and hopefully I will get even sex ratios, or female heavy. If I get more eggs and even sex ratios, great.
I'm sure we can work something out. Money or trades, but it will be easiest if people in Europe can get their trades to my guy in Germany, and he can send them to me and I can send mine to him and he can distribute. That way we all save on CITES and shipping.
If it is too hard for people in Eastern Europe to get trade animals to Germany, then maybe we can do two shipments. Plenty of time to figure things out. You or anyone else can email me privately and make suggestions on trades. My sumatrana for atra, philippinensis, and samarensis, or tan/light brown specimens of sputatrix, etc.

| Hey Peter,
Yes, things are going as planned, so far. Now, I just hope all will actually lay eggs. Being the first time for 3 sumatrana females, I have no idea what to expect from them. I'll post photos of clutches here as they are laid.

| Thanks Peter, I see no reason why not. Hopefully I can make deals with several people, and Tom or someone in Europe can collect all animals to be traded to me, and send all at one time and I can send all my animals to Tom or someone in Europe, that way we can all save on CITES, broker fees and shipping.

| Unbelieveable. A 5th female sumatrana bred today. I was going to wait until next year to try breeding this 2008 female, because I thought she was on the small side, but I got to looking at her today, and she is actually a little bigger than one of the 2007 females that has already bred. So, I put her in with my 2006 male. The same male that has bred 3 other first time females. These were his first breedings as well. What a STUD! He was on her like white on rice. I left them alone and went back 1 hour later, and caught them breeding. | |

| It may be possible to get 40 eggs now, but I am thinking more like 30 - 35. That way I won't be disappointed if I do not get 40 eggs, haha.
I will keep a few females and maybe a male, but most all of these are up for sale or trade for samarensis, philippinensis, atra, or possibly oddities of other species. | |

| Caught another breeding of Naja siamensis. The female is the darker of the two. She is the one that laid 29 eggs in 2009. I gave her a year off. She just shed today and I put in with the male, and a couple hours later I saw them breeding. | |

| The CB'07 female that bred on 01/30/11, laid 10 eggs today, 03/06/11, but only 5 are good. I removed 3 infertile eggs before taking the photo. This is the first CB female to produce, and she was bred to a CB'06 male, and this was his first breeding. I expected 5 or 6 eggs, as I stated in an earlier post, but I also said I was not sure what to expect, as this is the youngest sumatrana to breed and lay for me. The original female wasn't bred until she was at least 7 years old, and the original male was probably a little older, and that female never produced eggs that were obviously infertile when laid. I bred American Pit Bull Terriers for 16 years, and I and many breeders with more experience than I, noticed that if a male dog was a first time breeder, or had not bred in more than 1 year, his semen may be weak, and not produce as well as a dog that is bred regularly. I'm wondering if maybe the CB'06 male that bred the 4 young females had weak semen his first time breeding. Has anyone ever noticed that a male snake produced better after being bred a time or two. Just wondering about the infertile eggs. Of course, it may be the females fault. Maybe she is still a little too young at 3 years 8 months. When my Naja oxiana bred for the first time in 2008, and they were both 6 years old, the female laid 4 good and 4 bad eggs. We'll see what she does in around mid to late April.

| Thanks Nigel,
I have 1 male that is not like the rest of mine. He is probably more like the ones you saw in the zoos. He is one of the dark yellows Ray Hunter brought into USA a couple years ago. If you go to my website, you can see the difference between that male, ID # SumY-007-AD-M, and all the others.
I keep 5.6 now, but I may be keeping the entire clutch from female ID # SumY-006-08-F. She has much less brown speckling than any other I have or have produced, and the male she was bred to also has the least speckling than the other males, including his sire.
I will have my hands full this year, with all the cobras, but I'm hoping to trade some for atra, philippinensis, and samarensis shortly after they shed and eat.

| Why will you have visa problems? Is it not possible to import Cobras into Australia? Probably not allowed since they do not let venomous out.
There may be a problem with anyone getting anymore legal yellow sumatrana. They are from the Northern Malayan Peninsula and Southern Thailand, and recently a guy in Malaysia was busted smuggling and even our exporter can not ship to us right now. He will be grandfathered and then we can get the shipment we have been waiting for, but it looks like no one else will be able to get an export permit in Malaysia. Not sure how true all this is, but that is word from our exporter in Malaysia.
The next sumatrana of mine should lay eggs around the March 31. I will be keeping all her offspring as she has the least speckling of any sumatrana I have produced by far, and she was bred to the male with the least speckling, so I want to keep all the youngins and see how they turn out.
The mother to all my sumatrana and another CB'08 female look to be gravid as well. We will see.
Randy
